Powered by the Income Access affiliate marketing software (http://incomeaccess.com/affiliate_software_solutions.asp), GameAccount.com affiliates already enjoy in-depth tracking reports. The new commission structure is expected to increase the earning potential of GameAccount affiliates.

The new commission structure offers affiliates the potential to earn a 50% rev share until the end of November. Affiliates will be able to earn these commissions by promoting any of their suite products which include games like Multiplayer Blackjack, Backgammon, Domino Duel, and Gin Rummy. Affiliates can earn 40% on $0-10,000 of revenue they refer, 45% on $10,001-25,000 of revenue, and 50% on all revenues they generate above $25,000.

GameAccount.com will also be offering affiliates CPA commissions on an ongoing basis. For referring 1-10 players, affiliates will earn $50. They will also earn $60 for referring 11-20 players, and $70 for referring 21-30 players. Affiliates that refer 31 players or more will earn an $80 commission.

Today's Lesson: Backgammon Rake

Many firms vary the rake they charge by length of game (the more points the higher the commission), by stake (the higher the stake, the lower the rake) and also by your skill ‘rating’ versus your opponent. This last one is probably the most confusing and controversial as ratings can be manipulated (open a second account and you’re back to a beginner’s rating again) and this sliding rake makes it very unattractive for players of unequal ratings to play each other.

It’s probably best to give you an example here. You have just opened an account and agreed to play a 3 point match (first to three points wins) for £100. Your rating is 1500, your opponent’s is 1800. You win 3-0 which means they lose £100. But what do you net from the transaction? And does it ‘feel’ like the right fee has been deducted for the service? At GameAccount.com , the winner would receive £194 including his stake, i.e. a £94 win with £6 paid out in commission. Stated as a percentage of the pot this equates to a rake of 3%. Were you to play that same game, however, at play65, the net profit to you would only be £72, i.e. a rake of 14%! And it gets worse, the more points you play. On a 5 point game ending 5-3, for example, you are likely to be charged up to 19% - this means that if you won 60% of your games you would not be any richer. As backgammon, like poker, is a game which combines skill and chance, this is a tall order.

This is why GameAccount.com is happy to announce the lowest backgammon rake online ranging from 5% to just 1% according to stake size! We’d like to think that our rake levels will ensure that we remain the premier location for all online Backgammon players.

Nigel Payne Appointed Non-Executive Chairman
